King Arthur has met up with a strange Knight in the forest who has challenged the King to answer a question correctly or he will lose his Kingdom. After questioning several townspeople as to the right response, he meets up with an old disfigured woman called "The Loathly Lady," who provides him with the correct answer. Thrilled that he will not lose his kingdom, King Arthur tells the women she can have anything she wishes. She tells him that it is to marry one of his knights. A surprise from the Loathly Lady provides for a happy, romantic ending.
